wood carved and cloth doll Poppy
Poppy was sculpted from wood and cloth. Her head and lower limbs were carved out of basswood, then sanded and painted with layers of acrylic paint. Her upper limbs and torso is sewn, turned and stuffed cotton muslin with wool. Eyes are painted porcelain and clothes are scrap linen and her hat is made of wool felt and stitched with embellishments (hat is not removable). Her head can be moved gently from side to side, so she can look in different directions.
She is 9” tall and stands on a simple saddle style doll stand that I made from a block of wood and hammered steel wire, doll stand included. She also can be displayed sitting on a shelf or in a doll chair.
