Penelope was sculpted from Paper clay, fabric and sticks and paint. Her clothes are made of scrap cotton flannel, cotton and lace, embellished with hand stitching. Her arms and legs are made of carved sticks, jointed at the elbows and knees with beads. Her tidy hairstyle was made from dyed flax, sewn in place and her eyes are hematite beads.
She is about 10 1/2" tall and can sit, be displayed on a wall or shadow box from the loop sewn to her back or be displayed on a black metal kaiser doll stand, which is included.
